Vacancy for General Manager – Agribusiness

DESCRIPTION:

Our client has a very successful agribusiness located in Nigeria. They are in need of a General Manager to take over the day to day operations. This is an ideal job for someone that has spent many years in the sales additives to livestock companies. Someone that knows and understands how the parts, sales and service department run.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report to the Managing Director
• Oversee day-to-day operations
• Design strategies for goals for growth
• Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
• Set policies and processes
• Ensure employees work effectively and efficiently
• Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
• Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
• Direct the employee assessment process
• Prepare regular reports for the Managing Director
• Ensure staff follows healthy and safety regulations
• Provide solutions to issues like profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors etc.
• Any other job assigned to achieve the company’s corporate objectives

REQUIREMENTS:

• The ideal candidate should hold a good B.Sc./HND in Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Extension Services, Agriculture Economics, Animal Nutrition or Veterinary Medicine with minimum of 10 years’ practical experiences.
• Strong character, good communicator,honest and have integrity
• Strong management and business background
• Good understanding of labour, environment and business law
• Solid judgement qualities
• Self motivated
