Advertisement for Administrative and Technical Positions

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill vacant Administrative and Technical staff positions in the in Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) as follows:

INTERNAL AUDIT

1.) Chief Internal Auditor (CONTISS 13)

The Chief internal Auditor is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the discharge of the duties of the office.

Qualification/Experience:

Candidate for the position must possess B.Sc in Accounting with a minimum of second class (Lower Division) plus full membership of a recognized professional accounting body, such as ICAN/ACA/ACMA/ACCA/CPA etc with at least twelve (12) year post professional qualification experience, five (5) of which must be in an institution of higher learning.

2.) Executive Officer (Audit) – CONTISS 6

Qualification/Experience:

Applicants must possess OND in Accounting or relevant disciplines from a recognized Polytechnic plus 3 years post qualification cognate experience in institutional auditing.

SECURITY UNIT

3.) Chief Security Officer (CONTISS 14)

The Chief Security Officer is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the discharge of his duties.

Qualifications/Experience:

Candidates must possess a first degree in a recognized university plus a professional certificate in Security Training from a reputable institution.

Area of Specialization

Such candidates should have at least 14 years post qualification relevant experience in a university or other institutions of higher learning.
At least 3-5 years of post qualification experience should be in a top management position.
Possession of Masters Degree is also an added advantage.
Experience in relevant arm of Law Enforcement or any of the Armed Forces at a management/senior level will be an added advantage. Such should be supported with a career profile.

7.) Principal System Analyst (CONTISS 11)

Qualifications/Experience:

WORKS AND PHYSICAL PLANNING

21.) Position:     Director (CONTISS 15)

The Director of works and Physical Planning is the Chief Technical Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the Physical development as maintenance of university buildings, estate, equipment and other properties and for providing services and utilities for the well being of the University.

Qualification/Experience

Candidates must have a good honours degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture or Building Tech or Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution of higher learning plus at least fifteen (15) years of relevant experience. Such candidates should not be below the rank of a University or similar institution.
The right applicant must be a registered member of relevant and recognized professional bodies
A Masters degree in relevant FIELD as well as experience in the supervision of SIWES will be an added advantage.

Conditions of Service:

The Director shall hold office until retirement subject to five yearly performance evaluations by the University Council or as may be approved from time to time by Council. Fringe benefits are applicable to similar positions or as may be reviewed from time to time by the University Council.

22.) Principal Engineer (Mechanical) (CONTISS 11)

Qualification

Candidate must possess a first degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University with at least 10 years relevant post- qualification experience preferably with at least 4years practical experience in a university or comparable tertiary institution.
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the deployment of information technology to provide solutions to practical field problems. Applicants must be very verse in the procurement Act 2007, Tenders procedures and University Contract Management.
In addition, the candidates must be corporate member of Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) and must be duly registered by the Council for the Regulations of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) as Civil Engineers

Qualification

Applicant must be a professionally Registered Quantity Surveyor with at least 6 years post qualification experience.

Qualification/ Experience:

Applicants must possess HND in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution with at least 5 years post-qualification relevant working experience on the job, preferably with 3 years practical experience in any relevant power industry.

The Director is the Administrative head of the University Health Service. He is directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor. He/she must be professionally qualified with enviable administrative pedigree

Qualification/ Experience:

Applicants for the above position must possess the following:
MB, BS degrees from a recognized University
Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African College of Physicians or postgraduate degree in relevant disciplines with at least 15 years cognate experience. The candidate must have worked in a Tertiary or Research institution clinic for at least ten (10) years.

ACADEMIC PLANNING

38.) Director (CONTISS 15)

The Director of Academic Planning is a key officer in the affairs of the University.   The Director is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the duties of the office. The applicant must have a clear knowledge of the structure and the vision of the University. The Director also has the following specific responsibilities among others:

Prepare and review the University Academic brief as appropriate,
Determine the staff needs of Departmental/Units based on the directive of Council and making appropriate recommendations where necessary.
Coordinate activities involved in accreditation of Academic programmes and Departments in the University.
Make projections based on processed data on the staff/students population of the University.
Prepare and publish regularly, statistical data on the various Departments and Units of the University.
Monitor and evaluate Academic Programmes and Departments for appropriate academic development planning purposes.
Implement the quality assurance and improvement plans of the University.
Liaise with the Bursar in the preparation of Annual Recurrent Budget Estimates.

Qualification/Experience:

Applicants must possess a good honours degree from a recognized University in any of the following fields: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Educational Management with bias in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics.
A doctorate degree would be an added advantage. Applicants must be computer literate.
The Applicant is required to have a minimum of 1 5 years cognate experience in the planning unit of a recognized university not less than 5 years of which must have been spent in top management position in the planning unit

Conditions of service

Conditions of service are as applicable to similar positions in all Nigerian public universities and as may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council of the University. The appointment shall be till retiring age.

39.) Senior Planning Officer (CONTISS 9)

Qualification/Experience:

Applicants must possess a good honours degree from a recognized University in any of the following fields: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Educational Management with bias in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics.
The Applicant is required to have a minimum of 7 years cognate experience in the planning unit of a the recognized university not less than 3 years of which must have been spent in top management position in the planning unit.

Qualification/Experience:

41.) Chief Accountant  (CONTISS 13)

Qualification/Experience:

The candidate for the post of Chief Accountant must possess a good degree in Accounting or reated disciplines plus any of the following recognized professional qualifications ICAN, ACA, ACCA, ACMA & CPA. Membership of a relevant professional body is a necessary requirement. He or she must have acquired a minimum of nine (9) years post qualification experience, four (4) of which should be in the University system.
The candidate must have clean and impeccable records of service and demonstrate evidence of professional competence with high degree of accountability, transparency and priobity. Applicants should be highly computer literate and be conversant with the application of ICT-based accounting packages.

42.) Principal Accountant  (CONTISS 11)

Qualification/Experience:

Qualifications/Experience:
